Reprints Account Manager - Japan

Our client a leading academic publishers requires a Reprints Account Manager for Japan.

Reporting to the Reprints Sales Manager this role is responsible for achieving revenue targets, account planning and account management in Japan to contribute to the global Reprints target and the on-going journals strategy plans for Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed monthly revenue targets for reprint sales in Japan by sourcing, pitching and meeting with local brand managers
  • Warm call new prospects and maintain relationships with previous customers for upsell opportunities
  • Contribute fully to the objectives of your Division and achieve the personal objectives set by your manager
  • Work with London-based team to ensure co-ordination between Japanese and ROW-based pharmaceutical client affiliates
  • Represent at conferences in Japan as directed
  • Develop relationships with and meet with pharmaceutical publication managers and medical communication agencies to encourage content submissions to journals
  • Assist with marketing efforts in Japan

Skills & Experience:

The successful applicant will possess knowledge and experience of business-to-business sales in Japan (preferably to the pharmaceutical industry), in cold calling and in negotiating. They will need to speak both Japanese and English fluently (written and spoken).

The successful applicant will be passionate, positive and enthusiastic about their role whilst delivering results and improvements. They will be able to work well and build relationships both with individuals within the company and outside of whilst maintaining a customer and commercial focus.
