Revenue Manager

We are working with a global independent academic publisher to recruit for the newly created role of Revenue Manager. This role will lead strategic initiatives to boost journal subscription revenue through optimised pricing and market expansion, while fostering collaboration across teams to meet revenue targets. With a focus on enhancing customer experience and loyalty, you'll innovate retention strategies, refine renewal processes, and streamline publishing operations for maximum efficiency.

What the company offers:

  • Salary between £55,000 - £68,000 depending on experience

About you:

Bring your expertise in publishing systems, data analysis and strategic planning to drive informed decisions and maximise revenue growth. This role will suit someone with a continuous improvement mindset, and who can develop and communicate effective plans and roadmaps. You'll need a solid background in journal publishing with a demonstrable commercial focus to manage revenue and exceed targets. Solid knowledge of journal subscription models, PowerBi and Jira is advantageous.

As this role will be collaborating with many other teams and leading on the revenue strategy, candidates should be confident in their leadership and communication skills, and excel in cross-departmental collaboration.

Overview of the role:

The Revenue Manager will be leading all aspects of the entire renewal process, ensuring it operates smoothly and efficiently, including implementing strategies to increase subscription revenue by improving renewal rates, expansion into new markets, and pricing optimisation.

Main accountabilities:

  • Leading cross-functional teams spanning Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Finance, fostering cooperation to achieve revenue objectives
  • Innovating retention tactics and analyse subscription churn to reduce losses and enhance customer engagement
  • Refining subscription renewal processes and customer service operations to elevate customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Identifying and rectifying operational inefficiencies, implementing enhancements to streamline renewal and cash collection procedures
  • Monitoring subscription renewal metrics, offering insights and recommendations to guide strategic decision-making
  • Segmenting customers and map their journeys to devise tailored renewal strategies, boosting retention rates through personalised marketing initiatives
  • Partnering with Sales and Marketing to pinpoint upselling opportunities and executing campaigns aimed at increasing renewal rates

You will be joining the Global Circulation Team of a prestigious independent publisher of academic books, journals, research tools and digital collections. This team looks after operational activities across the company ensuring efficiency and effectiveness along with improving Customer Experience.

They are based in a modern office in Central London and operate a hybrid working flexible model with 20% of the time in the office.
