Senior Books Marketing Executive (Temp to Perm)

A Senior Marketing Executive is required join a leading trade publisher in Greater London with insight and expertise in commercial trade fiction. Assisting and supporting the Channel / Brand Manager, you will also work with the Editorial, Digital and Retail teams. This role is being offered temp to perm, ideally starting at the end of January with interviews to be held ASAP.

Key duties:

  • Actively participate in business reviews to create author and imprint strategies for frontlist, backlist and special sales
  • Work with Editorial to evolve strategy and devise initiatives to build the brand, attract new authors and grow sales
  • Manage the execution of campaigns and ensure author brand consistency across channels.  This to include:  product/author, packaging, pricing strategy placement and promotion
  • Oversee special product initiatives and repackaging
  • Proactively communicate with the Retail and Digital teams on initiatives, activities and progress
  • Manage author publicity campaigns in conjunction with PR agencies/ freelancers
  • Continual review of competitor and Bookscan analysis of sales and trends in commercial fiction
  • Full analysis (pre and post) of marketing campaigns
  • On-going P&L review and evaluation to determine and recommend publishing programme and campaigns
  • In conjunction with Editorial, review and assess Author acquisition profitability
  • Manage marketing budget and spends and day-day cost management of the budget

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Product marketing, Brand Strategy
  • Consumer insight and trade fiction commercial awareness
  • Financial acumen including strategic and analytical thinking
  • Degree level education – preferably with Marketing / Business focus
  • An excellent track record of running fully integrated consumer marketing campaigns
  • Good understanding of business/financial analysis and metrics
  • Demonstrable digital and social media marketing experience
  • Advanced PowerPoint desirable
