Senior Commissioning Editor, London

Looking for an amazing senior commissioning role with a well-respected illustrated book publisher? Our client is looking to appoint an experienced commissioner to join their team, based in central London and to build on their highly successful design focused list.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, you will:

• Commission high quality new professional/trade titles
• Originate new book ideas and source authors
• Identify new publishing areas and develop titles to be commissioned
• Develop strong links with design journalists, tutors and other professionals
• Produce exciting sales material for the Rights and Marketing departments
• Meet regularly with internal colleagues to plan new strategy

You will have proven experience in commissioning outstanding illustrated books and demonstrable commissioning skills.

Good commercial instincts and a flair for spotting trends will be important in this role as will your ability to see gaps in the market.

Strong budgeting and negotiating skills will be important and the ability to work well with a small team.

Previous experience of commissioning in the area of design, graphic design or fashion will be an advantage.
