Senior Content Editor

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Editor to join an evolving department in a highly prestigious professional organisation. Our client operates within the legal sector and publishes a range of journals, magazines, newsletters, books and e-products. They have modern offices in London and are seeking a Senior Content Editor to join their future-focused publishing team.

Taking personal responsibility for a suite of products, the successful candidate will manage the commissioning and production processes for all content related to their designated products, ensuring content is exploited as widely as possible in both off and online formats. Key responsibilities will include:

managing and building effective relationships with editors and editorial boards to chase and generate content; ensuring content is delivered according to schedule across print, online, film and audio; assisting with copyediting, proofreading and ensuring high quality standards are maintained; and ensuring that the overall strategic aims of the organisation are reflected in all publishing activity.

The successful candidate will have proven editorial experience ideally within a legal/professional/business publishing environment although candidates from other areas with the relevant skills would also be considered. You must have first class communication and organisational skills with the ability to liaise on all levels. Experience of using InDesign would be desirable and experience in commissioning content within a multimedia environment highly advantageous. An interest in Human Rights, and in International Relations would be hugely beneficial. In return the company offer a competitive salary with great benefits.
