Senior Content Product Manager, Higher Education, Berkshire

 Our client is a leading educational and academic publishing company looking to recruit a Senior Content Product Manager to work on their Higher Education material. The company offices are based just outside London, but within a commutable distance, and the role sits in the production department of this forward-thinking and creative organisation.

The Senior Content Product Manager will be responsible for the project management of their own titles, taking content from manuscript to delivery across print and digital products, setting and maintaining schedules, liaising with authors ad internal departments keeping stakeholders and the Head of Production informed with any significant developments across the list. This role will also have responsibility for creating costings, uploading content onto their bespoke eplatforms, briefing freelancers and ensuring design and digital briefs are clear and that content is being produced to a high standard, to schedule and to budget. The Senior Content Product Manager will also manage a Production Assistant, ensuring they are being supported and developed within the department. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production with an excellent knowledge of prepress and print processes including knowledge of digital production and how the influx of changing technology is constantly challenging production processes. With fantastic organisational skills, an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects the Senior Content Product Manager will be a proactive problem solver with a solutions focused approach to every task at hand. The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills and the ability to work across Word, Excel, InDesign, Acrobat and Access, managing schedules, budgets and producing in house covers. Communication skills are absolutely key as this candidate will have responsibility for line managing a Production Assistant as well as negotiating and working closely with freelancers, authors, internal and external stakeholders.
