Senior Editor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Editor to join a leading professional body based in central London. You will be responsible for providing senior editorial support and copyright expertise to the Publishing team along with commissioning and formatting learning materials for printed and online publications.

 

Key duties:

  • Responsible for the editorial support of technical, complex and multi author projects
  • Identify and contract suitable authors, reviewers, contributors and subject matter experts as required
  • Edit and format learning materials and ensure content is produced on time and within budget
  • Commission and develop new material to contribute to the continuous improvement of content
  • Act as the key contact for all copyright, permissions and licensing queries
  • Mentor and coach junior members of staff

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven editorial experience ideally within professional or academic book publishing
  • Previous experience of commissioning or an understanding of the process
  • Experience of using XML content management software would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive with strong problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of financial services and insurance markets would be an advantage
