Senior Editor
A well-known scientific publisher based in central London is looking for a Senior Editor to commission, edit and project manage a broad range of online resources for healthcare professionals. This is an exciting and varied new role suitable for an experienced candidate and covering a wide breadth of healthcare topics in different forms of content.
Key duties:
- Manage allocated therapy area portals on website, including budgets, schedules, editorial boards, etc.
- Develop commissioning plans and project manage custom projects ensuring they are delivered on time, to budget and brief
- Liaise with technical team to track and analyse metrics
- Line-manage 1 or 2 team members, helping them with commissioning plans and providing feedback and coaching
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and internal and external stakeholders
- Keep up-to-date on important clinical issues and market trends
Experience / skills required:
- Solid experience in an editorial role within STM/medical publishing or medcomms agency is essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a biomedical subject is required
- Good knowledge and understanding of clinical medicine and pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and engage with specialist authors and clients
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritise and meet strict deadlines
- A proactive, resourceful and adaptable attitude with a creative flair
- Line management or supervisory experience is essential
- The ability to travel internationally as required
