Senior Editor (Contract)

Our client, a leading trade publisher in Central London, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Editor to join them for a fixed-term 12 month contract. Looking after a list of illustrated non-fiction cookery and lifestyle titles, you will work closely with high profile authors and agents.

Key duties:

• Oversee and lead the creative vision on a strong list of titles
• Work with authors, agents and other external stakeholders
• Present titles at internal sales events, working closely with sales, marketing and publicity
• Help to shape manuscripts and undertake structural editing
• Manage a team of two Editors

Experience / skills required:

• Extensive editorial experience of working in illustrated book publishing, ideally cookery
• Previous experience of managing a list and working with high-profile authors and agents
• Ability to manage budgets and work to tight deadlines
• A keen eye for design
• Good IT skills, particularly in InDesign
• An interest in food and cookery would be advantageous
