Senior Editor – Non Fiction

This challenging and exciting senior position has arisen at the Orion Publishing Group, part of Hachette UK, to take overall responsibility for the project management and editing of non-fiction four-colour projects from acquisition to publication date. If you possess solid experience managing lifestyle, food and/or cookery titles involving overseeing complex and highly illustrated projects, then here’s a superb career development opportunity within our dynamic business.

You will be totally at home with the key responsibilities of this role – from developing and maintaining strong relationships with authors and the structural edit and creation of flat plans for four-colour titles to delivering on all schedule deadlines and multiple project management.

Also important will be how you manage and brief designers, illustrators, photographers and freelance editors to create accurate content, whilst controlling all aspects of editorial budgeting, and stepping in to enhance content with all necessary copy editing, copy writing, ghost writing and proofreading.

Your experience will also need to encompass the effective management and relationship building with all associated contributors to your projects, a meticulous eye for detail, supervising photography shoots including recipe testing, ideally backed up with a genuine love of cookery books and their subject matter.
