(Senior) Journal Publishing Manager || Journal Publishing

A renowned journal publisher is looking to appoint a (Senior) Journal Publishing Manager to work on their life science list.

The jobholder will take responsibility for the performance and strategic development of a group of journal titles. Specific duties will include: proposing and agreeing financial forecasts and development plans for each publisher owned title in their portfolio; setting up and manning exhibition stands at conferences, and networking with appropriate academics and practitioners; maintaining a broad overview of developments in journal publishing, both print and electronic; researching acquisition leads in agreed subject areas, including preparation and presentation of publishing proposals; and consulting with production, marketing and sales departments to ensure that journals are published timeously and marketed appropriately.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have previous experience in journal publishing. Financial awareness is essential as are strong interpersonal skills as relationship building and management is a key element of this position, and the ability to coordinate tasks on multiple different projects is required.
