Senior Manager, Customer & Sales Analytics

Taylor & Francis Group have a vacancy for a Senior Manager, Customer & Sales Analytics.  This role involves the provision of sales, customer and regional analysis to support the activities of sales and marketing staff across both the books and journals divisions.

The role will lead a small team dedicated to the provision of sales analysis and customer and regional intelligence to our sales and marketing teams.  This intelligence will be used to support customer and consortia visits, to identify potential up and cross selling opportunities and to inform sales strategy.

Team responsibilities include:

  • Using internal and external data to profile customers and regions by subject-focus
  • Developing & maintaining templates to provide high impact data presentations for sales visits
  • Production of data-based leads for sales and marketing
  • Identifying potential customers for new product types
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing colleagues to develop evidence-based best-practice around the delivery and use of customer data
  • Championing the use of customer intelligence as a tool for targeted sales and marketing activities.
  • Management of the Mastervision and SAP BI reporting systems
  • Advising on developments within Taylor & Francis’ reporting & analytical systems
  • Training and supporting internal colleagues on customer and sales reporting systems and use of data
  • Championing customer data governance throughout the business to ensure high quality customer analytics
  • Analysing internal sales data and data from aggregators to identify trends and inform sales strategies.

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

  • Data analysis and report provision around customer data within academic publishing
  • Developing resources and best practice around the effective leveraging of data insights
  • Requirements gathering for new reports, templates or systems
  • Business ownership of reporting or analytical systems
  • Line management and staff development

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree-level or equivalent with a logical and methodical mind, a keen head for figures and excellent interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will possess a very high level of attention to detail, along with analytical and problem solving expertise and strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.  The candidate will also have excellent IT skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to learn new techniques and adapt to new software. Along with advanced Excel skills, experience with the following software (or equivalent software packages) would be beneficial: Microsoft Access, Excel VBA, SFDC, SAP/SAP BI, Mastervision.

Some international travel will be required.
