Senior Project Editor (International Schools)

A leading global publisher of educational products is looking for an experienced Project/Managing Editor to work on a new project, publishing material for International Qualifications. This role is based in their Oxford offices and offers excellent potential for future career progression.

 

Key duties:

  • Project manage a range of innovative resources from editorial handover to publication
  • Manage multi-component print and digital projects to produce resources on time and to budget
  • Support in-house and freelance publishers in the team in an editorial capacity
  • Provide support to the Head of Publishing with workflow and process improvement
  • Participate in project planning in order to build editorial budgets, schedules and resource plans
  • Edit products or oversee freelance editing of all stages as appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with all publishing colleagues to ensure consistent quality assurance
  • Mentor more junior editors in the team

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven experience and ability to take an editorial lead on complex projects is essential
  • You must have demonstrable experience of working in both print and digital formats
  • Experience of Educational Publishing is required
  • You will have strong and proven project management ability
  • Experience of supporting junior editorial colleagues is required
  • You will have experience of sourcing and managing freelancers
  • The ability to work across multiple simultaneous projects to pressured deadlines is essential
  • International curriculum publishing experience is highly desired
