Senior Product Manager - Modern Foreign Languages

We are looking for a talented and creative individual to work for a highly successful educational publisher, within their secondary learning services division as a Senior Product Manager within the MFL team.  Based at either their London or Oxford office the ideal person will be someone who is inspired by the challenge of meeting the needs of teachers and learners in UK secondary schools, and able to demonstrate degree level fluency in French, plus, either German or Spanish.

The main purpose of the role will be to lead on the implementation of agreed strategies for learning services and to drive growth, and achieve the company`s goals. You will build market and subject understanding and communicate your acquired knowledge throughout the company for designated projects or curriculum phases for modern foreign languages. You will also be involved in strategy and proposition development by contributing to the strategy process for modern foreign languages, and develop winning propositions for carefully chosen areas, but you will also be accountable for the success of these projects, as well as responsible for commissioning and managing authors for said projects.

This is a key role within the department and the successful person will be educated to degree level in French and Spanish or German.  You will be experienced in commissioning and managing authors, possess strong commercial and financial planning skills and have the ability to develop deep market and subject understanding in order to manage projects through their life-cycle. Organisation and project management skills are essential as is experience of publishing for the schools market in MFL within secondary schools.

The successful candidate will be able to think strategically and have experience of building and maintaining relationships with teachers and internal teams.
