Senior Production & Development Editor - Journals

We have a fabulous new role for a Journals professional to work for a highly respected online medical journal, in the areas of  physiology. This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, but candidates will be required to be based in the UK.

Reporting to the Chief Editor, the role of Senior Production & Development Editor will work directly with senior editorial management on the efficient management of the production and development of the journal. This role will also involve regular analysis and reporting of key journal metrics to assess performance and development decisions.

The role will also include all aspects of journal production from manuscript through to  liaising with printers,  progressing initiatives and developments and will identify potential new initiatives or subject areas to strengthen the journal’s position within the market sector.

This is a fabulous new and varied role, ideal for someone with demonstrable scientific journals production experience and someone who is looking for a new varied role within journals publishing.  The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, ideally with a life science degree  and have demonstrable proven experience of journal production at a senior level and journal development, plus, a solid understanding of how scientific journals operate, how they can be developed,  and how to persuade subject experts to improve the impact factor and what the impact of OA will be.
