Our author stable includes both British and international writers such as Philippa Gregory, Santa Montefiore, Chris Carter, Milly Johnson, and Graham Swift.

 

Job Profile:

We are looking to recruit an experienced, strategic and commercially minded Deputy Publishing Director to run our crime and thriller lists.

 

Your Role:

Reporting to the Publishing Director, Fiction, and working closely with the MD of Adult Publishing, the role is heading up the crime and thriller publishing across the adult fiction list. You will be responsible for the strategic development and profitable growth of the overall list, and will take ownership of your own authors as well as oversight across the crime and thriller list. You will be responsible for acquiring across the list, and you will have a strong understanding of the market and a keen eye for trends. You will be a key member of the senior team, deputising for the Publishing Director where appropriate, with an important role in developing the future success of the list.

 

The Candidate’s Profile: 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful publishing within the crime and thriller market, with a strategic approach and meticulous eye for detail, coupled with a keen nose for a bestseller. They will be able to seek out the stars of the future, and will know how to turn a killer hook into a bestseller. They will have excellent relationships with authors and agents, and a portfolio of successful publishing under their belt.
