Solution Architect - Publishing Platforms

This is a great opportunity to join a growing international publishing technology company who provide digital platform solutions to the global scholarly publishing market. Our client can boast some of the worlds’ most well recognised academic publishers among their customers along with significant recent growth resulting in the need for three Solution Architects.

As part of the client services team the Solution Architect forms a bridge between customers, product management and engineering. Key responsibilities will include:

• Interacting with customers to interpret and evaluate business requirements before proposing technology solutions.
• Writing technical specifications/solutions for internal engineering colleagues.
• Providing feedback to product managers on opportunities for new features/functionality.
• Working within project teams on the development of new solutions.
• Understanding XML and coordinating content conversions.
• Understanding business models to translate them into either platform configuration or specification for new implementation.
• Understanding and performing data migrations.
• Supporting sales colleagues with technical knowledge, including giving demonstrations.
• Providing customer and internal training.

This opportunity might suit a product manager with a technical background or a senior developer with excellent communication and relationship building skills.

To be considered for this role you will need 5 years plus within a related post, software development experience preferably web and backend along with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills. You will also ideally have project management skills. Experience working in scholarly publishing or with scholarly publishers would be desirable.
