Team Leader, Academic, Oxford

A rare opportunity to join this world leading Academic Publishing company based in lovely offices in Oxford.

We are looking for a Team leader to join a very busy and dynamic production team working across books, journals and digital resources for the research, professional and higher education markets. This is a really varied and interesting role for someone who has experience of managing a production and project management team.

The successful candidate will join a busy and dynamic production team, working across all subject areas (Medicine, Science, Academic, Trade, Reference, Dictionaries, Law and Higher Education). You will be line managing 5 production editors. Your teams purpose is ensuring that the highest quality of author care is given at all times. You will be liaising with stakeholders across the business to ensure smooth running of production. You will be a natural problem solver and excellent communicator.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills: line management experience; proven production and/or project management experience; experience of working with overseas suppliers; experience of devising workflows and procedures; demonstrable problem-solving skills; ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders; ability to manage a busy and varied workload and work to strict deadlines, and to motivate others to meet deadlines; a conscientious approach to work with the ability to organise and prioritise work tasks; knowledge of print production and online publishing; written and numerical accuracy and attention to detail; strong administrative, computing, and office skills; be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
