Sales and Marketing Assistant

The University of Wales Press (UWP), based in Cardiff, seeks to appoint a Sales and Marketing Assistant within its dynamic Sales and Marketing Department.  This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Wales’ leading academic publisher during its Centenary year and contribute to implementation of strategic growth plans.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, have a keen eye for detail and a passion to make a difference. The position would suit a candidate early in their publishing career, wishing to develop and learn from a talented team.

The Sales and Marketing Assistant will work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and Press as a whole, playing a key role in ensuring that each publication reaches its full sales potential. The Sales and Marketing Assistant is a vital component in the company’s business activities, particularly given the importance of multi-channel communications, social media and online promotion, and the growth aspirations of the Press.

University of Wales Press is a bilingual (English and Welsh) publisher. Welsh language skills are welcomed, and/or the successful candidate will be provided with Welsh lessons paid for by the University.

The post is a permanent full-time position (35 hours per week).

Starting salary is from £18,000 with a generous holiday allowance of 25 days annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays & 7 customary days) and University pension.
