XML Editor (Temporary Contract)
We have several Editorial Temp roles at a leading professional publisher in central London. This is for a 1 month contract starting ASAP. You will join the Content Management team, providing editorial support across an online subscription-only service for legal professionals.
Key duties:
- Editing online content (house style, language and XML mark-up)
- Applying and editing XML mark-up
- Checking content for sense and conformity to house style, proof reading legal content, style correction and adherence of product style guides
- Uploading new content to Content Management System, requesting taxonomy codes and forms etc
- Adding, correcting and checking links
- Publishing new and amended content Liaison with several teams throughout the business including authors, Editorial, Fabrication and Content Developers
- Ensure best practice and style guide is followed
Experience / skills required:
- Some experience editing professional / B2B / academic content is required
- Ideally experience of editing in XML or similar and good IT skills
- Confident editing on-screen and with an excellent eye for detail
- Ability to prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Experience of legal subject matter / legal document creation processes highly desirable (Law A level, degree, commercial course advantageous) but any relevant editorial experience can be considered
