Academic Inventory Manager

Our client, a leading publisher of academic books based in central London, is looking for an Academic Inventory Manager to join their Sales Operations team. This role will be responsible for managing the academic print inventory across all lists and ensuring stock availability for academic titles in the UK, US, India and Australia.

Key duties:

  • Ensure correct stock holding and availability for each title in each territory
  • Work closely with colleagues in the US, India and Australia to maintain correct stock levels
  • Manage the Print on Demand process and work closely with production to ensure a fast turnaround
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with warehouse partners, track and invoice direct deliveries
  • Oversee the import of US stock into the UK warehouse
  • Advise key stake holders on KPI’s for all Academic print titles and produce reports and analysis

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience working in a data heavy role and managing inventory within publishing
  • Experience in reprint analysis, decision making and schedules
  • Solid Excel knowledge including data analysis function
  • A working knowledge of Biblio or similar publishing system
  • Import and export experience within book publishing
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships
