Editorial Team Leader (Rights)

Our client, an Educational publisher in London is looking for a candidate with Rights or Permissions experience to work closely with in-house Legal Counsel to set policies for acquiring intellectual property. This opportunity is suitable for someone who has an understanding of UK Intellectual Property Law.  

Key duties:

• Lead a small team and deal with third party permissions and clearances
• Conduct product assessments for rights required and record all right activities
• Ensure rights requests and processes are aligned with the publisher’s IP policies
• Provide cost estimation to the business on the rights to use text, images and third party content
• Improve workflows and rights activities proactively

Experience / skills required:

• Knowledge on publishing processes and basic copyright laws
• Knowledge and experience on working with legal documentation
• Highly organised and methodical, with an keen an eye on detail
• Solid IT skills, especially familiarity with databases
• Demonstrable understanding of UK Intellectual Property Law
