GDPR Project Manager
Our client, an academic publisher is looking for a GDPR Project Manager for a 6-8 month assignment. The role holder will be someone who has IT experience but also has a lot of exposure working with different departments within a business and appreciates that GDPR is not an IT driven initiative but that it is the job of all business units to comply with the regulation.
Key duties:
- Working with internal business areas and organising the associated activities within each business unit
- Coordinating activities that will require cross-departmental and/or IT support
- Prioritising, determining the level of effort and the resources needed for each IT related initiative
- Working across the business - legal, finance, IT, HR, Customer Services, Sales, Marketing, Editorial/Online Products - to put in place compliance monitoring and assigning responsibilities and ownership across each sector
Experience / skills required:
- Collaboration between the various different function work streams to insure a coordinated approach
- Assist in the development of departmental plans and coordinate departmental plans into a project plan for the business
- Work with departments to ensure that the organisation is clear and has documented the legal basis on which data is processed
- Coordinate cross company efforts related to systems, data retention and third party data processors
- Assist in the Data Protection awareness raising and communication strategy across the business
