Production Controller (children’s)

A prestigious independent trade publisher is looking for a Production Controller to join their children’s department and work on an exciting list of front list titles, including a number of high-profile authors.  This role sits in a friendly team based in their beautiful office in central London.

Key duties:

  • Oversee the production of children’s 4-colour titles including picture and novelty books, fiction and non-fiction titles
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget and meet high quality standards
  • Responsible for project costing and print buying
  • Prepare titles for both print and digital editions
  • Liaise with in-house departments and external suppliers
  • Work in closely with external suppliers

Experience / skills required:

  • Production experience in mono and 4-coulour trade publishing is essential, ideally within children’s publishing
  • Proven experience in print buying
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of the production process is essential
  • Good time-management and organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to anticipate and solve potential issues with a proactive attitude
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and a familiarity with Adobe products and Biblio3 is a plus
