Production Designer

An independent trade publisher in Oxford is looking for a talented individual to join their Production and Design team. This is an exciting opportunity work on lists across a wide range of subjects in a busy team.

Key duties:

  • Project manage assigned lists from manuscript through manufacture and shipping and to eBook creation and quality assurance
  • Retouching images, correcting layouts and artworking covers
  • Cost projects and ensure they are produced on schedule, within budget and to a high standard
  • Work closely with in house departments and external suppliers both on and offshore

Experience / skills required:

  • Some experience in a publishing environment
  • Knowledge of production processes and life cycle for books
  • Proven experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
  • Print buying experience
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent organisational and time management skills
