Publicist (Academic)

We have an exciting opportunity for a publicity professional to work on a list of award-winning Academic books in central London.  You will secure a wide media coverage for key academic titles, across humanities, social sciences and the visual arts.

Key duties:

• Plan and execute key title publicity campaigns
• Work closely with the Marketing team and organise publicity schedule
• Meet with journalists and literary editor to promote the publications
• Attend and bring in ideas at new book proposal meetings
• Report press coverage to Sales, Marketing and Editorial team

Experience / skills required:

• Proven experience as a publicist within mainstream press
• Previous experience in academic communications will be advantageous
• Excellent contacts with journalists, particularly in the humanities, social sciences and arts
• Experience in UK and Rest of World is essential, US publicity will be a plus
• Keen eye for shifts in media landscape
