Head of Publishing Sales
This Head of Publishing Sales vacancy is a challenging opportunity for an experienced trade books publishing sales professional to join a leading trade publisher and international brand. Managing a small team, the Head of Publishing Sales will focus on UK Key Accounts and oversee delivery of budgeted revenue for UK, export and co-edition sales.
Key duties:
- Oversee management of the UK key accounts, export territories (including co-edition partners) and distribution procedures
- Manage and motivate the sales team, including an experienced co-editions and international licensing sales manager and a UK Key Account Manager
- Deliver budgeted English language revenue through the sale of both English language and foreign language editions
- Set and implement long-term publishing strategy for EMEA and APAC
- Seek out new sales opportunities and build new markets in the allocated regions
- Present weekly sales data, producing market analysis and sales projection reports for the management team
Experience / skills required:
- Established managerial experience in a trade book publishing sales role
- UK key account experience, in particular large supermarkets, Amazon and WHSmith
- Strong knowledge of the UK and export book trade
- Some knowledge and understanding of export and co-edition sales processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
- A proven track record managing and developing a sales team, product sales and building key account relationships
