Sales & Rights Manager

Great opportunity for an experienced Sales & Rights Manager to sell books and rights to the Christian and general markets in the UK and internationally. You will be joining a leading trade publisher of Christian Faith titles in Oxford and will oversee a team selling adult and children’s books.

Key duties:

  • Oversee the sales of books across UK and globally, ensuring the company sales targets are achieved
  • Develop procedures for sales and rights selling strategy, giving input to sales forecasts and budgets
  • Manage sales for distributed book sales and book rights sales including managing appointed agents
  • Maintain and develop overseas and UK relationships through regular communication and visits
  • Supervise the work of the sales team members and their personal development
  • Supervise team to deliver sales conference presentations, sales support materials for book fairs and consumer facing events or trade events
  • Travel and attendance to represent the company at book fairs and events internationally
  • Collaborates closely with editorial, marketing, production & finance teams

Experience / skills required:

  • Sales Account Management experience at a senior level in the publishing industry, ideally on trade books (could also be in distribution / retail / merchandising)
  • Solid line management experience
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively              
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Good numeracy, flexibility and high team awareness
  • Good level of IT literacy in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
