Senior Press Officer

A leading independent publisher of commercial non-fiction and illustrated books has a new opening for a creative and social media savvy Senior Press Officer to join their team. Based in their office in South West London, you will plan and deliver innovative PR campaigns for a diverse range of titles.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, friendly and passionate team and really make an impact.

Key duties:

  • Create PR plans and drive publicity campaigns for a range of non-fiction titles
  • Pitch to press, broadcast and online outlets to ensure maximum press coverage
  • Maintain and build a list of press / media contacts
  • Create and manage publicity schedules and maintain a high standard of author care
  • Manage social media channels across Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
  • Organise events and pitch for author festival appearances
  • Work closely and collaboratively with authors, agents and colleagues in Sales and Editorial, communicate effectively with in-house and external parties on campaigns and progress

Experience / skills required:

  • Previous publicity experience in non-fiction book publishing
  • Strong media / press contacts across print, broadcast and online media
  • Proven experience of using social media channels and incorporating different mediums to create effective and successful campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and WordPress would be desirable
