Review Editor (Development)

A not-for-profit publisher of scientific journals in Cambridge has an exciting opening for a Reviews Editor to work on the journal Development. This is a perfect opportunity for an editor to make a significant contribution to one of the major journals in the field of developmental biology and stem cell fields.

Key duties:

  • Handle and commission peer reviews and developmental editing of material
  • Develop publishes outstanding primary research articles
  • Creative involvement in the journal’s development
  • Closely work with in-house team, including Executive Editor and international team of academic editors
  • Write article highlights and press releases
  • Represent the journal at international conferences and in the wider scientific community

Experience / skills required:

  • Educated to degree level, ideally PhD, or equivalent in a developmental or stem cell biology subject
  • Previous editorial experience will be advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal, enthusiasm and literary skills
  • A broad interest in science and the scientific community
  • Creative and passionate scientific publishing
