Head of Product
This Head of Product vacancy, with an academic publisher based in central London, is a great opportunity to use your strong product development and leadership experience to support the growth and innovative development of an academic journals platform. This 9-12 month maternity cover contract is a chance to make an important contribution at a leading publisher.
Key duties:
- Responsible for leading a Product Management team to support growth and change in the journals business
- Encourage a culture of innovation and enable team members to engage with emerging technologies
- Represent the Product Management and journals team at management and steering committee meetings
- Ensure delivery is in line with strategic objectives and lead on a project to evolve long-term product strategy and delivery plans
- Lead on new product initiatives and engage in industry conferences to feed into strategic planning
- Drive procedural efficiency where possible, introducing new methodologies and practices as appropriate
- Support the drive to embed UX best practices within the organisation, driving value for both customers and users
Experience / skills required:
- Established digital Product Management and team leadership experience in publishing
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of the academic publishing market
- Proven ability to present and influence at a senior level
- Experience of managing strategy, roadmaps and budgets and a strong understanding of user-centred design
- Experience using Agile and Lean methodologies would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
