UK Academic Sales Manager

The opportunity

  • Bloomsbury Information

 

We are seeking an Academic Sales Manager to sell Bloomsbury Academic & Professional books in the UK.

 

The role

  • Work directly with all customers and Higher Education institutions to manage and achieve ambitious sales targets
  • Negotiate prices, customer trading terms, and contractual agreements
  • Deal with orders and queries, working closely with our UK-based warehouse to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Frequently visit customers and universities to conduct sales calls and maintain strong local relationships
  • Agree promotions with customers, submissions for catalogues and any other marketing plans. Present new books to customers.
  • Identify ways in which Bloomsbury can increase market share in the UK, through further product development, distributor relations, sales events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Co-coordinate the distribution of sales, marketing and publicity materials to customers and key contacts
  • Attend key in-house meetings, including a weekly Publishing meeting and providing market feedback.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and gathering market data to channel back to in-house teams

 

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • A proven track record of success in a sales environment, with substantial book trade experience
  • Experience working with UK Book Wholesalers and Key Accounts within the UK market
  • Experience working with UK Institutions
  • Proven experience presenting a range of complex products to senior decision-makers
  • Knowledge of the UK Academic & Professional Publishing market
  • A self-starting attitude and capacity to work independently

 

This role is based at Bloomsbury’s London office – 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP.
