The opportunity
Bloomsbury is a leading international publishing house with sales offices in London, Oxford, New York, Sydney and New Delhi.
This is a pivotal role suitable for someone with previous sales experience, preferably in a publishing environment, to work with our existing Sales Team. First-rate communication skills and bags of enthusiasm are also a pre-requisite. The role is office based (working from our Oxford offices) and also field based.
The role
- Management of a number of allocated specialist accounts
- Selling and promoting new titles and backlist to established and potential new customers
- Researching and finding new sales opportunities
- Processing orders and dealing with customer queries relating to deliveries, invoices, credit notes
- Mailing books samples, catalogues and other sales material
- Provide sales support for the Sales Directors as required.
Skills, knowledge, experience
- Excellent sales and communication skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and to meet sales targets
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel
- A professional manner and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range external clients and internal stakeholders
- The ability to prioritise a demanding workload
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
- Full driving licence
This is a permanent full time role, and the office base will be the Bloomsbury Publishing offices at: Kemp House, Chawley Park, Cumnor Hill, Oxford, OX2 9PH, UK.
