Publishing Director

Bookouture is the UK’s leading digital publisher of commercial fiction - and part of Hachette UK. 2018 was our best year yet, with 8.5 million copies sold worldwide. In 2019, we’re looking to build on our exceptional track record of sales growth, adding some of the best talent in the industry to an already formidable team.

As part of that expansion, we’re looking for a forward-thinking, ambitious Publishing Director to assemble and lead a new editorial team.

We want someone not only with great publishing talent, but who makes a habit of improving the way things are done, who embraces change and who enjoys applying data and tech to creativity.

We’re keen to find someone who is driven by producing great work, thinks strategically – with a growth mind-set – generating new ideas and approaches that will improve our business.

Here are some of the key skills and experience that you’ll need:

  • A highly successful track record in acquiring and publishing commercial fiction
  • Excellent awareness of the digital market
  • The ability to guide and motivate an ambitious team
  • Knowledge of the US market would be a significant advantage

In return we’re offering the chance to build your own team and author list – and to help shape the future of one of the most progressive, fast-growing publishing companies in the world.
