CEO Required

A leading seller of books in the UK and overseas, both through 20 internet marketplaces and its own bricks-and-mortar shop, is seeking to appoint a replacement Chief Executive Officer later this year.

The role brings with it a number of challenges due to the state of flux in online sales channels, dynamic product pricing and direct book promotion. The company has been through significant internal structural change as it responds to market dynamics.

Applicants for the position must be able to demonstrate sound leadership skills and the ability to develop winning strategies in collaboration with the Board. The ideal candidate is likely to have extensive experience of the ecommerce and physical sides of the book trade, not least in second-hand and antiquarian books. Some technical Web skills would be useful. Candidates will need to impress the Board with a proven ability to develop and maintain a profitable business.

The position is based in the South West. The initial contract will be for 2 years. Salary to be negotiated, plus profit sharing and share acquisition. A 4-day week option could be considered.
