Publishing Sales Representative – Midlands & the North
Do you have experience selling the highest quality, cutting edge publications into the trade, academic and/or specialist, non-traditional markets? Would you like to take the best next step for your career by selling great books for leading independent publishers at the top of their game?
A highly successful, fast growing publisher and distributor is looking for a focused, results-driven field sales representative to cover the Midlands and North of England area, selling both their own publications and third-party publisher titles across the region. You will develop effective sales strategies and source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve targets. The right candidate will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with their accounts, generating leads and finding new customers. The role is home-based, but the successful applicant will spend considerable time on the road selling across their territory.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand account base within your assigned territory
- Offer input on new titles and possible new product opportunities
- Develop, implement and evaluate new sales strategies/models
- Build productive long-lasting account relationships
- Meet personal and team sales targets
- Research account opportunities and generate, follow through sales leads
- Attend sales meetings, sales events and training
- Report and provide feedback on your territory to the Sales Director and editorial team, distribution clients
Requirements
- Proven sales experience
- Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Experience using title management databases
- Computer literate
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and highly professional
