Commissioning Editor

About the role:

 

Cambridge University Press Academic division is looking for a Commissioning Editor to drive forward the development of the STM Open Access journal programme. You will work across STM to drive forward the creation, development and delivery of a significant number of Open Access titles.

 

You will be responsible for ideating and scoping new journals, some in partnership with scientific societies, as well as responding to OA RFPs.  You will drive through business proposals and oversee the development, launch and delivery of titles according to plan. You will contribute to the overall scalability and development of the OA programme through a variety of key projects and initiatives. 

 

About you:

 

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have proven project management competencies, experience of working in a publishing environment, and the ability to multi-task on projects. You will have experience of ideating and scoping new STM publishing products. Experience in creating proposals alongside launching new publications is essential.

 

You will also possess a range of strong behavioural traits, from outstanding attention to detail, to being highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills.​ We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable candidate who can work independently within a global team, and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholder groups across the business.
