About the role:
We are currently recruiting two Development Editors with the Higher Education team here at Cambridge University Press. One position is a permanent position and the second is a maternity cover contract until August 2018. Both positions are based in our Cambridge office and report to the Development Team Lead in our New York office.
 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to help drive the success of our Higher Education publishing program. You will work on a wide range of projects, both first editions and new editions, across disciplines from science, technology and math (STM) and humanities and social sciences (HSS). You will work closely with authors, Commissioning Editors, and other colleagues to help shape and launch high-quality textbooks.  
 

About you:
You will have proven of editorial experience, preferably in the higher education market, with excellent line editing skills as well as well the ability to look at a manuscript creatively and critically. You will also have very strong project management experience, with the ability to juggle dozens of tasks for dozens of projects at different stages. You will be an excellent and authoritative communicator, both orally and in writing.  Experience in STM disciplines is a plus, but not essential.
 

All candidates will be required to take an editing test.
