UK Non-Trade Sales Executive
Carlton Books, a leading award-winning global independent publisher is looking for a new UK Sales Executive (Non-Trade) to join their English Language Sales Department.
The role would suit a proactive, enthusiastic candidate who welcomes the challenge of driving incremental revenue, maintaining strong existing account relationships and exploring new business channels.
Key tasks and attributes will include:
- Working closely with the English Language Contract Sales Director to meet budget targets and manage forecasts to maximize sales and profitability across Carlton’s list;
- Maintaining good working relationships with existing customers within the non-trade retail sector for revenue growth;
- Understanding the varying needs of customers across the non-trade landscape, and working with the ELC Sales Director to provide solutions
- Assisting with the development of brand and media partnerships, including delivering campaigns and meeting sales targets;
- Identifying and initiating sales opportunities with various key brands, with the confidence to negotiate and manage pricing and logistics, under guidance from the ELC Sales Director;
- Clearly communicating the Carlton Books portfolio to partners;
- Working with key departments (including sales, production, finance, operations, legal, editorial, publicity and marketing) to get deals to market;
- Analysing trends and new mechanics and feeding back information to key internal stakeholders;
- Developing relationships internally and externally to understand competition and customer needs;
- Being a team player.
You will be highly motivated, incredibly well organised, with excellent interpersonal skills. The role is an opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in sales to take their next step in account management. Applicants should have a solid understanding of custom sales (product and publishing processes), be a strong team player, be able to multi-task and pay attention to detail. A ‘can-do’ flexible attitude is vital.
