Assistant to Literary Agent - Book Department

We’re looking for a confident and keen assistant to join our busy team, working alongside one of our senior literary agents, Cathryn Summerhayes. Are you looking for the next step in your publishing career? Do you see yourself becoming a literary agent one day?

We need someone organised and unflappable, with excellent admin and interpersonal skills, creative flair and determination. You should be culturally aware and able to demonstrate your love of books and reading. This is a busy role involving liaison with clients, publishers and other industry professionals. Candidates should be able to multi-task, remain calm under pressure and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

We're looking for someone with 12-18 months experience in a similar role, preferably gained in a publishing house or agency. The salary range for this post is £23-25k p.a. depending on experience. (Please note that this is not an entry level position).

This will be an evolving role which changes as the assistant gains experience.  Curtis Brown sees this as a potential training position for someone with some industry experience who wants to develop his or her skills and ultimately become an agent working alongside the team at Curtis Brown.
