Rights Executive - Translation Rights Department, Curtis Brown

Curtis Brown is one of the world's leading literary and talent agencies, representing authors, playwrights, film and television writers and directors, theatre directors, actors and presenters. Many great authors have passed through the portal of Curtis Brown at one point or another in their careers, and many of these remain clients to this day.

Are you a versatile team player with a sharp eye for detail? We are currently seeking an energetic, creative and highly-motivated Rights Executive to work in our Translation Rights Department. This role supports one of our Translation Rights Agents but also helps with general administrative tasks for the department. You may already be working at a publishing house or literary agency, or perhaps working as an intern in a publishing house or agency.

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised with excellent administrative skills. You’ll enjoy working in a busy and ambitious team and will feel confident handling a high volume of work, including contractual details.  Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in book publishing and the foreign language markets, an understanding of digital and social media, and be meticulous about detail.   As part of a lively department, you’ll be happy to use your skills to help facilitate colleagues’ projects  - to roll up your sleeves and pitch in.  Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful but not necessary.

Curtis Brown sells translation rights for clients of ICM Partners and acts as their co-agents in the UK (ICM Partners is a leading talent and literary agency based in New York and Los Angeles). The Agent you’ll be supporting manages the translation rights sales of an impressive stable of authors on the ICM list.

We offer a competitive salary, training and development opportunities and an attractive benefits package. This is  an ideal opportunity for someone to discover more about international publishing, build excellent knowledge and continue to develop their contacts within the industry.
