DK are looking for a dynamic, confident sales person who can help grow sales in key international territories.
The role's two main functions will be to expand business with our existing international trade customers; whilst focusing on unlocking brand-new revenue in those markets.
Growing DK's market share across new channels and forging new relationships in a variety of sectors and countries is paramount.
The role requires someone with experience in the international book market, ideally the Middle East or Africa and to have a strong commercial outlook. They'll be working in a close-knit team and will be required to travel throughout the year across their markets and relevant book fairs.
Key attributes:
- Experience in international publishing is preferable
- Confident to travel solo, representing DK and meeting with multiple customers across many countries
- Attending customer meetings
- Selling front list, back list, and custom made titles
- Meeting with and working with Creative Teams in house to review new titles and devise new custom products for customers
- Meeting preparation
- Getting dummies mocked up ahead of meetings and tenders
- Preparing sales pitches for existing and new customers
- Ability to manage lots of varying customer accounts whilst maintaining overall targets
- Competent with Microsoft Office (preferable experience with publishing systems such as Biblio3)
- Able to report figures monthly and stick to pre-determined goals
- Monitoring competitor activity in the market
- Working closely with the Marketing team to deliver promotions
- Updating customers on relevant marketing and PR alerts and campaigns on specific titles, licenses or events
- Work well in a close-knit team
