Assistant Editor/Editor, Ebury Fiction

We are passionate publishers of a diverse list of commercial fiction – from magical literary fantasy to historical fiction based on true stories like THE LIBRARIAN OF AUSCHWITZ to genre fiction including sagas.  We are looking for a talented and creative Editor or Assistant Editor to join our small fiction team here at Ebury.

Reporting directly to the publishing director for fiction, you’ll manage all processes of book production from acquisition to publication, liaising with authors, agents and the wider fiction team/Entertainment Hub. As well as excellent metadata, editorial and organisational skills, you will be a voracious reader with a passion for stories and an awareness of the commercial market.  You’ll also be actively encouraged to contribute ideas and there may be opportunities for the right person to commission in due course.

If this sounds like your perfect next chapter, please apply with a CV and cover letter no later than 19th September. Please also tell us about the last commercial novel you read and what you liked/didn’t like about it.

Please note, we are not able to accept agency CVs for this role. Any CVs sent speculatively, will not be eligible for a fee.
