Desk Editor, Ebury (Maternity Cover)

Are you passionate about the art of making books that captivate readers, inspire new ideas and become part of the conversation? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Ebury is the UK’s largest dedicated non-fiction publisher. Our WH Allen, Virgin Business and Ebury Press imprints publish award-winning quality non-fiction by some of our leading writers and thinkers, from Caitlin Moran and Sheryl Sandberg to James O’Brien and Jack Fairweather. We need you to have proven experience in turning manuscripts into faultless books – from structural and line-editing to proofreading and collation – meticulous attention to detail, thoughtful communication and problem-solving skills and a good eye for design.

Reporting to Ebury’s Deputy Publisher, you will be responsible for overseeing books through the whole publishing process, liaising with authors, agents, copyeditors, proofreaders, indexers and designers. This is a chance to join a dynamic new team at an exciting moment for Ebury and smart non-fiction in general, and support some of London’s leading commissioning editors in creating books for readers around the world.

If you have worked in a similar publishing environment, ideally with a mix of smart-thinking and quality non-fiction experience, please apply by 19th February with a CV and cover letter, and let us know about what recent non-fiction books you wished you’d worked on and why.

We are looking for someone to start in mid-April, and we are open to flexible working arrangements.

Our employees are the heart of our business. We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our employees, some of which are:
