You’ll have your finger on the pulse, and will always be thinking, ‘is there a book in that?’ And if there is, you’ll be able to shape that concept into a proposal, know which audience you’re going to sell it to and how to package it to the highest-possible standard.

This role will suit someone with a strong background in commissioning four-colour and mono food and drink, diet and health, lifestyle and gift titles. You’ll have a genuine passion for this area, and will be brimming with ideas on what’s going to be the next genre to pop up, or the new food talent to break through and how you’d package the book as a potential bestseller.
