Senior Designer – Picture Book and Gift Book

Fixed Term (12 month contract)

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and talented Senior Children’s Book Designer to work on our Picture Book and Gift List.

Working closely with the Publisher and Creative Director, the candidate will be a champion of the picture book and gift list, identifying and bringing both new and proven talent to the list. They will have responsibility for planning, managing, commissioning and designing appropriately targeted commercial picture books and gift books for children.

You will need:

• Experience of designing market leading covers.
• Negotiating with and commissioning illustrators, either directly or via agents and delivering clear commercial briefs and art direction for all areas of the market.
• Relevant consumer, trend and market awareness in order to help develop new commercial concepts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – being able to present design concepts, approaches and work in progress to various internal and external stakeholders.

The role is based in our offices near Monument tube station in Central London.
