Content Assistant

Our newly created content assistant job in our in-house content team will enable you to experience the full range of digital content team activity, from editing and proofing, to developing marketing content, blog writing and growing our social media presence. We are a dynamic company in the media sector based near Tower Bridge in London. This job is offered on a 6 month fixed term basis and there is the possibility that it will extend into a longer term or permanent role. We are offering a salary of between £22,000 and £24,000 per annum dependent on experience. Our benefits include free life assurance and a contributory pension scheme, 25 days’ annual leave with ability to flex and season ticket travel loans.

We are interested in hiring someone with the potential to grow into being an excellent content assistant - that means your attitude and enthusiasm will be really important to us. If you are as passionate as we are about finding ways to share great writing and resources then we would like to talk to you!

You will need to be an excellent writer with a firm grasp of correct spelling and grammar use. Any relevant experience in writing, copy-editing and producing materials for the digital environment will help your application – but as we employ people for their potential to be excellent rather than for what they have already done, this isn’t essential. You will need to demonstrate an intelligent interest in education policy and school leadership. We will need you to be ready to be flexible and responsive to customer need and changing business priorities and you will also be well-organised and have a keen eye for detail. 

 

The Role

You will be focused on ensuring a good digital experience for our members, leading to increased engagement and sharing of content. Day to day as well as uploading and distributing content you will be ensuring it is engaging, accessible and SEO and user friendly. You will be copy editing for our magazine, distributing content via social media and increasing reach and usage and taking a leading responsibility for one or more twitter feeds. You will keep us well organised with regards to administration including maintaining content planning boards and processing invoices. You will also participate in school visits alongside colleagues and apply and share your learning at work.
