Faber Children's Books publish some of the best in picture books, young reads & YA fiction – from classics such as T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats and The Iron Man by Ted Hughes to contemporary award-winners including Kieran Larwood’s Podkin One-Ear and Five Children on the Western Front by Kate Saunders.
We’re looking for an experienced Editor to join a small, dynamic and friendly team.
With an excellent grounding in children's publishing, you’ll be expected to contribute ideas and thoughts for publishing across the list. Other responsibilities include reading and responding to submissions, providing editorial and design feedback at weekly meetings, and providing editorial support to the Publisher/ Editorial Director and the rest of the team.
Highly organised, creative and with a keen eye for detail, this is a busy role that will involve you in structural and line editing, project editing, proofreading as well as liaising with pre-press, copy editors and authors.
An important aspect of this role will be liaising with the Sales, Marketing and Publicity department, writing copy, briefing covers, writing marketing materials, in addition to maintaining in-house databases and systems, such as Biblio, and some general administration.
This role is offered as a full-time position, on a contract of up to 12 months, to start as soon as possible, reporting to the Editorial Director, based in our Central London office.
