Key Account and Special Sales Manager - Maternity Cover

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional and book lover to join the Faber & Faber Sales Department in the role of Key Account & Special Sales Manager. You will be joining a busy, hardworking and successful team representing Faber and the Independent Alliance publishers in both the adult and children's UK book trade. 

 

Your remit will be to oversee the establishment of trading relationships with a wide-ranging portfolio that includes supermarkets and non-traditional bookselling accounts. That means proactively selling and presenting directly to buyers, nominating titles for promotions, negotiating unit costs and managing budgets. Therefore a proven track-record in account management is essential. Particular experience of selling to book clubs, third-party agents and special sales accounts would be an advantage.

 

The role involves reading and understanding confidential information such as contracts and estimates, so being numerate, with an eye for detail is essential, as is a good working knowledge of Google mail, Excel and Word. In addition, you will need a confident presentation style, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. 

 

This role is offered as a full-time position, on a contract of up to 12 months, to start as soon as possible, reporting to the Head of UK Sales, based in our Central London office.
