With a list that includes legendary writers Jon Savage, Paul Morley and Nick Kent; and music icons such as Kate Bush, Neil Tennant, Van Morrison, and Billy Bragg, Faber has been a pioneering publisher of literature about, and emerging from, pop music and the world of pop culture for over thirty years.
Faber Social emerged as an imprint dedicated to the most adventurous and original writing on pop music in the broadest terms in the late ’00s. From autobiography and memoir to lyrics and cultural commentary, Faber Social has published some of the most critically acclaimed, exciting and unique books on pop music and culture.
We are now seeking to hire a new figurehead to manage and shape the future of this distinctive and successful business. We need someone who will be ambitious to create a bold vision for the future of Faber Social and deliver consistent growth and profitability.
As Head of Faber Social you will procure all titles for the list and drive all aspects of its publishing strategy - including negotiating rights deals, creating book ideas and publishing initiatives, as well as acquiring projects from musicians and key figures.
So, in addition to your proven entrepreneurial flair and rounded experience of the publishing industry, it is likely that you will have strong connections to the music industry. Imagination, creativity and taste are all equally important, as is an instinctive affinity for the books and authors on our list.
